Gresik – The Boys’ Dormitory of Maskumambang Islamic Boarding School held an Inspiration Class event themed “Thriving in the AI Era: Skills Students Must Have for Future College and Careers” on Wednesday (3/6/2026) at 20:00 WIB. The activity was held in the Meeting Room of the New Dormitory Building and was attended enthusiastically by the students of the Maskumambang Boys’ Dormitory.

The Supervisor of the Maskumambang Boys’ Dormitory, Ustadz Zidane Ramadhan, explained that this activity was designed to provide motivation as well as insights to students regarding the importance of preparing themselves for higher education, the workforce, and ever-changing technological advancements.

“This Inspiration Class activity aims to provide motivation and insight to students about the importance of preparing themselves to face the world of college, work, and future technological developments,” said Ustadz Zidan on Thursday (4/6/2026).

According to Ustadz Zidan’s explanation, this Inspiration Class was conducted by inviting State University of Malang (UM) Community Service (Kuliah Kerja Nyata/KKN) students as speakers.

Through this experience-sharing session with the KKN students, the boarding school students were guided to understand various skills that need to be developed from an early age. These include communication skills, creative thinking, using technology wisely, as well as building self-confidence and a never-give-up attitude in achieving their goals.

According to Ustadz Zidane, the activity is also expected to help students gain a clearer picture of the steps they need to take to achieve a successful and meaningful future.

“We hope that the students will become more enthusiastic about studying, dare to dream big, and have a clearer direction in preparing for their future,” he added.

Interactive Discussions and Student Enthusiasm

During the activity, the discussion session was highly interactive. The students actively asked various questions to the speakers. One of the most interesting moments occurred when Faris Nizam, an 8th-grade student of MTs YKUI Maskumambang, asked detailed questions about programming languages (coding) and their applications.

This question received appreciation from the speakers as it showed great interest and good knowledge of the tech world. Faris is known to be a student who takes the programming elective course at the madrasah.

In addition, Muhammad Bahy Khadzim, a 10th-grade student, also raised a question about time management for college students who also have jobs or other activities outside of their studies. This question sparked an interesting discussion regarding the importance of discipline and time management when balancing multiple roles simultaneously.

Through this Inspiration Class activity, the Maskumambang Boys’ Dormitory hopes that the students will be better prepared to face the challenges of the Artificial Intelligence (AI) era and be able to develop relevant skills to support their future studies and careers.
