Gresik, May 27, 2026 – “Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar walillahil hamd.” The chants of takbir continued to echo to welcome the Eid al-Adha 1447 H, glorifying Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala for the blessings of faith, sacrifice, and obedience. Eid al-Adha is not just a major Islamic holiday, but a momentum to reaffirm the values of sincerity and submission to Allah Ta’ala, as exemplified by the prophets of the past.
Eid al-Adha is closely related to the exemplary character of Prophet Ibrahim Alaihissalam (AS) and his son, Prophet Ismail AS. The story of their sacrifice serves as a great lesson for Muslims regarding obedience to the commands of Allah SWT. Prophet Ibrahim AS demonstrated unwavering faith when commanded to sacrifice his son, while Prophet Ismail AS exemplified an extraordinary attitude of tawakal (trust in God) and obedience.

This spirit of emulation was evident during the Eid al-Adha 1447 H prayer organized by the Maskumambang Islamic Boarding School (Pondok Pesantren Maskumambang) on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, which coincided with 10 Dzulhijjah 1447 H. The event took place in the field located east-southeast of the Maskumambang Mosque and was attended by hundreds of congregants, including students, teachers, and the surrounding community.
The manager of the Maskumambang Mosque (Takmir), Mr. Habibi, stated that the prayer service began around 06:00 WIB and concluded at approximately 06:30 WIB after the sermon was delivered. According to him, the public’s enthusiasm for participating in the Eid al-Adha prayer at Maskumambang continues to increase from year to year.

“Alhamdulillah, every year the Eid al-Adha prayer at Pondok Pesantren Maskumambang is always packed with congregants. In fact, the female congregation earlier almost reached the Maskumambang Sports Hall area,” said Mr. Habibi, after the sermon.
In this year’s service, Ustadz Mahfuz Abdul Rajak, M.Pd. served as the imam, while the Eid al-Adha sermon (khutbah) was delivered by Ustadz Mukhammad Iqbal Astar, Lc. In his sermon, he invited the congregation to emulate the struggles of Prophet Ibrahim AS, who successfully passed various life trials with utmost patience and faith in Allah Ta’ala.

Ustadz Iqbal explained that Prophet Ibrahim AS obtained an honorable position in the sight of Allah Ta’ala not without trials. He faced an environment filled with polytheism, was opposed by his own people, and was even thrown into a massive blazing fire. However, with a firm devotion to monotheism (tauhid), Prophet Ibrahim AS remained surrendered to Allah Ta’ala while reciting, “Hasbunallahu wa ni’mal wakil,” which means “Sufficient for us is Allah, and [He is] the best disposer of affairs.”
The entire big family of Pondok Pesantren Maskumambang wishes you a Happy Eid al-Adha 1447 H. May Allah Ta’ala always bestow blessings, health, and peace, and accept all our good deeds and sacrifices.
