From Nature to Faith: A Fun Explore Camp by MTs-MA YKUI Maskumambang

Explore Camp Pecinta Alam MTs-MA YKUI Maskumambang

Gresik – The Explore Camp of the Nature Lovers Community of MTs-MA YKUI Maskumambang was successfully held for two days, starting from Thursday (21/5) until Friday, May 22, 2026. The activity, which took place at Klurak Eco Park, became one of the outing class programs aimed at providing students with direct learning experiences in the open nature environment.

The supervisor of the Nature Lovers Community of MTs-MA YKUI Maskumambang, Ustadz Abdullah Dzulkarnain, S.Pd.I., Gr., explained that this activity was a collaboration between the MTs-level nature lovers community called ARMASPALA (Arek Maskumambang Pecinta Alam) and the MA-level nature lovers community, namely Jejak Kalam. A total of 12 students along with one accompanying teacher participated in the series of Explore Camp activities.

According to Ustadz Abdullah Dzulkarnain, the Explore Camp of the Nature Lovers Community of MTs-MA YKUI Maskumambang was not only a recreational activity, but also a learning medium that provided relaxation while giving students the opportunity to reflect upon the beauty of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala’s creations. The students were invited to get closer to nature through various educational and togetherness activities.

“Alhamdulillah, yesterday we completed the Explore Camp activity of the Nature Lovers Community of MTs-MA YKUI Maskumambang. This activity is part of the outing class agenda by learning directly in nature, calming the mind, while also reflecting on the beauty of Allah Ta’ala’s creations,” explained Ustadz Abdullah Dzulkarnain on Saturday (23/5/2026).

In addition to nature-based activities, the students also maintained discipline in worship throughout the Explore Camp. All students performed the five daily prayers in congregation, recited Surah Al-Kahfi after the Fajr and Maghrib prayers, and attended Friday prayers at Masjid Kapal.

“This activity is not only about reflecting on the beauty of Allah Ta’ala’s creations, but also about teaching independent living and togetherness. The students learned camping skills, cooking together, maintaining solidarity, and remaining disciplined in performing congregational worship. We even continued to perform the five daily prayers in congregation, Friday prayers at Masjid Kapal, and recited Surah Al-Kahfi together after Fajr and Maghrib,” he added.

Furthermore, he emphasized that the activity also served as a means of instilling love and care for the environment among the students. According to him, protecting nature is part of the responsibility of faith that must be applied in everyday life.

“Concern for the environment is one form of preserving faith, because nature is a trust that must be cared for and protected together. Through caring attitudes toward cleanliness and environmental sustainability, values of responsibility, togetherness, and gratitude grow in everyday life,” he said.

Through the Explore Camp activity of the Nature Lovers Community of MTs-MA YKUI Maskumambang, the students are expected to develop leadership, independence, and teamwork skills.
